Pope Francis met with media

I am so sick of the Pope-bashers.  They’re everywhere!  It seems like no matter what Catholic website I go to, there are link trails to bloggers, ranters, and maniacal ramblers who attempt to rip apart and freak out about every single thing the Pope says or is reported (truly or falsely) to have said.  They’re like a pack of wolves turning on one of their own — on their Alfa, even.

Aren’t we Catholic?  Aren’t we followers of Christ?  Aren’t we supposed to love one another as Christ has loved us?  Then why all this Pope-bashing madness?

You say Pope Francis is a heretic.  You say he’s the anti-pope.  You say he’s evil.  You say you are justified in “discussing” or “critiquing” the Vicar of Christ.  Well, this is what I have to say to you:

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you are like to whited sepulchers, which outwardly appear to men beautiful, but within are full of dead men’s bones, and of all filthiness. So you also outwardly indeed appear to men just; but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.” — Matthew 23

I’d tell you Pope-bashers to shut up and go away, but I know that’ll never happen, since it’s a fallen world and there will always be poop lying around to accidentally step in.  So, instead, I ask you, as one Catholic to a multitude of others, to SHUT UP AND PRAY for Pope Francis and for the Church, because they certainly need it . . . and we should all be praying for them anyway.

That is all I have to say on the matter, except that I’m off to go pray the Rosary with my family . . . and I will keep you Pope-bashers in my intentions.
